Dr. Luxy is written by Dr. Preny Honarchian – a personal life, health, consulting, and style blog. Founded in 2020 after some soul searching and many years of schooling, I realized I was missing my creative side and as a result, I felt that everything had become very routine.

Today, readers can expect to see topics ranging from eyecare, fashion, beauty, life, and much more. The Dr. Luxy reader is the everyday woman, she loves to balance it all; family and career driven, she has a feminine yet strong style that embodies presence, likes to hear about the best beauty and health tips, and loves to set and reach new goals for herself. 

My background is in Optometry and I currently see patients 5 days a week! And I love it! I started off as an undergraduate at University of California, San Diego (UCSD) as a Human Biology major and in 2012, I made an impromptu decision to travel abroad to Patna Bihar, India, to help the underserved community with critical eye care needs. During my time there, I remembered reading “it’s a luxury to have sight” in one of those magazines that are just waiting for you to open in the seat-back pocket in airplanes – hence the name of my creative space, Dr. Luxy. I wanted it to be a reminder for everyone on how important eye health truly is – especially since it’s so often, neglected.

This life-changing decision to volunteer led me to finding my passion & is my reason for completing my Doctorate in Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences in 2017 – graduating with the highest distinction & becoming a member of Beta Sigma Kappa, an international honor society.

I feel so incredibly lucky to be able to educate not only students interested in the field of healthcare, but the general public as well. Being able to inspire and educate people through creativity has always been a dream of mine.
